As a yoga teacher I use music in my yoga classes for several reasons. It helps you to relax and have a soothing affect on your mind. I find that music can be a big help to go deeper within yourself and get in touch with your emotions. When it comes to music we all have different tastes. Some prefer not having music, when practicing yoga. Some prefer one kind of music and others totally different. It depends on your taste of music of course. Here are my favorites:
Mirabai Ceiba is a duo consisting of guitarist/singer Markus Sieber and singer/harpist/keyboardist Angelika Baumbach. They play a beautiful world devotional music with harp, piano, and guitar and their voices are so beautiful!
I just love his music. I use it a lot in my classes. The music is instrumental and kind of neutral and very calm. Suits most people.
One of the most wellknown singers in the kundalini yoga tradition. She has a voice of magic and music like a dream! Meditating to her music is like heaven.
Well, this music I use to get in some happiness and joy in life. Their wonderful music makes me happy. Maybe not music I use in the studio so often, but at home I use it to uplift and dance to it to get some energy moving!
This is a collection of artists from the label Putumayo
Music from the whole world! From Mali to Nepal. This is the album that I found yesterday. Love it!
Do you have any favorites when it comes to spiritual or yogic music? Please share! It´s always nice to discover new music!
