In many different traditions we talk about the feminine and masculine power, yin and yang, moon and sun. Unfortunately when we talk about feminine power it´s so easy to refer to femininity as something that we need to struggle with or fighting for. In the history it has not been equal between men and women and even to this day it still isn´t, though I think here in Sweden we have come pretty far. Trying to reach equality, women have almost erased their feminine sides, thinking we must be just like men. Instead of following our beautiful qualities inside of us we try to be the same all the time. We think we need to perform and be perfect all the time, instead of using the shifts that we have in our cycle. When we start following this cycle, the moon cycle as it is called in the kundalini yoga tradition, we become more authentic, use the best sides of ourselves and also avoid to get burned out.
The moon centers are different parts of your body and relates directly to specific qualities during the moon cycle. You stay in each center for 2, 5 day. Each woman has her own specific path through her body during the cycle. Trying to see the world through these moon centers how you feel, can be a big help and also help you to understand yourself.
I have written about this before: Following your cycle if you want to read more.
I´m totally into this, listening to the body and mind and trying to follow my cycle, but what I have not done is to actually figure out how all these moon centers affect me and in which order they come. To write down where in the cycle I am right now, and trying to figure out how my cycle looks like during these 28 days can be a big help in planning my life. Have you ever felt that one day you feel a lot of creativity and all of a sudden the next day you don´t want to get out of bed. This can make you totally confused, and also your family… But if you know your path, how your cycle is you can make your life much easier.
So try to write a journal every day for 28 days. Try to figure out your cycle, you can live your life much fuller. You know when the days come when you need to go inward and meditate, cause you are going to be in the introvert phase. You can plan when you know that the creative days are coming up, so you use those days to create and produce stuff.
The moon centers and the qualities
Here are the 11 moon centers explained more in detail, that can help you to figure out your path:
When this moon center is activated you feel great, outgoing, centered and have a wonderful self esteem. Great days to take important decisions.
Here you will be emotional, sometimes out of control. These days, it´s important to take care of yourself, eat good food, do yoga, meditate. Not a good time to make important decisions.
Your communication can be extreme. Maybe you inspire others or say things that you should not say. These days it´s important to control what you are saying to people. If you feel heart centered and happy let it out in words. If you feel insecure, angry or bitter it´s better to stay quiet.
During these days you get analytic and intellectual. You need to talk about values and moral. Good to get involved in the world, discussions. Not good to take long term decisions these days.
Back of the neck
You feel romantic and a little bit out of the blue. Everything is beautiful, you see the beauty everywhere. You feel open and want to try new things. Not good to take big decisions.
You feel compassion and are heart centered. You are generous and have a tendency to say yes to everything. It´s a good time to support your friends, being social, but not to take very important decisions.
You are questioning yourself and don´t trust in yourself. You feel insecure and vulnerable. You are fragile and can´t take criticism. Maybe not the best days to ask for creative feedback. These are the days you only want to stay in bed…
You have a lot of energy and are very productive. You create to-do lists and you manage to do it all. Great days to start things, cleaning out the closet etc.
You are creative and have a lot of imagination. This is a good time to write, paint and create things. To plan and do things that you normally don´t do. If you make a decision here, you tend to overdo it.
You are charming, talkative, and outgoing. A great time to go to parties and meeting friends.
In this phase you can be social but with more intimate friends or maybe you just want to hang out with yourself. This is a good time to meditate going inwards and just being still. It´s also the perfect time to take a time-out like a mini retreat.
So where in the cycle are you? When I wrote my journal this morning I realized I´m the Eye brow, the creative center. So when I planned for this week, I planned to do creative things the first 2-3 days when I´m in this wonderful flow. I have just come out of the navel center, the emotional phase. Thank God it´s over and 28 days until next time. ☺ But maybe next time it´s not so super emotional if I have followed my cycle..
So this is going to be a 28 days challenge for me, exploring my centers and cycle. Creating my path to be in my feminine power. Are you with me?
